Courtney Barnett recently released the new song “Smile Real Nice,” which she contributed as the theme song for the Apple Original television series Harriet The Spy. The first five episodes of the animated adaption of Louise Fitzhugh’s 1964 children’s novel come out on Apple TV+ November 19 with the rest of the season due in spring.

Barnett’s latest single arrived on her Mom + Pop imprint, the same label that will release her Things Take Time, Take Time full-length studio album on November 12. Things Take Time, Take Time is the Australian singer-songwriter’s third full-length studio album. Courtney recorded the LP with producer/drummer Stella Mozgawa during sessions held in Sydney, Northern NSW and Melbourne late last year and early this year.

Beanie Feldstein lends her voice to Harriet in the Harriet The Spy update, while Emmy-winning actor Jane Lynch voices Ole Golly, the title character’s nanny. Hear Barnett’s “Smile Real Nice” and watch a trailer for Harriet The Spy below:
