Jazz guitarist John Scofield and blues guitarist Taj Mahal have teamed up for a pair of shows at the Lincoln Center in New York City that will honor the late great bluesman Muddy Waters. John Scofield & Taj Mahal Celebrate Muddy Waters marks the first pairing of the talented musicians and takes place tonight, Friday April 24 and tomorrow night Saturday, April 25 at the Lincoln Center Rose Theater. The Jazz At Lincoln Center Livestream channel will make both shows available for live streaming.
Supporting the duo for a celebration of what would have been Waters’ 100th birthday will be Big Bill Morganfield (vocals, guitar), Billy Branch (harmonica), Sumito Ariyoshi (keyboards), Marvin Little (bass) and Kenny “Beedy Eyes” Smith (drums). Both tonight and Saturday’s show begin at 8 p.m. ET and each can be streamed via the Jazz At Lincoln Center Livestreams below.
