Charlie Hunter Shares New Single ‘No Money, No Honey’

On July 22, the Ground Up record label will issue Everybody Has A plan Until They Get Punched In The Mouth a new 10-song Charlie Hunter album. The multi-talented jazz performer has shared a track from the album, entitled “No Money, No Honey.”

Taking its title from a quote by former boxing champion Mike Tyson, the new album finds Hunter playing his guitar/bass hybrid instrument alongside Kirk Knuffke on cornet, Bobby Previte on drums and Curtis Fowlkes on trombone. The ensemble recorded the album completely live at Waterfront Studios in Hudson, New York. Video of the group performing “No Money, No Honey” together in the converted church studio was premiered by NPR Music and can be viewed below:
