One of our favorite versions of the National Anthem took place during last year’s World Series at AT&T Park in San Francisco. Was it the one featuring Tim & Nicki Bluhm? Nope, but that one was great. How about Bob Weir teaming with Phil Lesh and Tim Flannery. Nah, though we did enjoy it. We’re talking Carlos Santana’s shred-tastic “Star-Spangled Banner” from Game Four. On Sunday the guitarist will have a chance to reprise the epic performance.

Carlos Santana and his wife Cindy Blackman Santana have been tapped to perform the National Anthem before tomorrow night’s Game Two of the NBA Finals between the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers. The game is scheduled to start around 8 p.m. at Oracle Arena in Oakland and the anthem is expected to be part of ABC’s broadcast. Blackman Santana is best known for her drum work behind Lenny Kravitz.

Back in October Salvador Santana accompanied his father on piano for the instrumental “Star-Spangled Banner,” which takes off when Carlos extends the final note with all sorts of fretboard fireworks:
