An all-star concert, billed as “The Dirty Bats,” was held Thursday night at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York. The Eldridge Industries holiday party saw Bruno Mars, Eddie Vedder, Brandi Carlile, YUNGBLUD, Anthony Kiedis and several others share the stage together.
Kiedis’ Red Hot Chili Peppers bandmate, drummer Chad Smith, was part of the house band that included his recent collaborator, guitarist Andrew Watt. They were accompanied by Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan, as well as keyboardist Adam Wakeman.
Bruno Mars was among the last performers to emerge. His appearance included takes on “Dirty Diana” and Nirvana's “Smells Like Teen Spirit.”
Eddie Vedder’s contributions included fronting the ensemble on Pearl Jam's “Better Man” and “Corduroy.” Brandi Carlile, who will return to The Cap tonight for Steve Earle's John Henry’s Friends Benefit Concert, sang her song “The Story” and Led Zeppelin's “Black Dog.”
Anthony Kiedis was brought out for covers of Motörhead's “Ace of Spades” and Iggy Pop & The Stooges' “Search & Destroy” and Sly & The Family Stone's “If You Want Me To Stay.” Yungblud was out front for Black Sabbath's “War Pigs” and The Rolling Stones' “Start Me Up.” The full cast returned for the “Johnny B. Goode” finale.
