Bruce Springsteen received the Legacy Award at the Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles on Saturday. The Boss also played three songs, including a rare performance of “Streets Of Philadelphia.”

“Streets Of Philadelphia” appeared on the soundtrack for the 1993 film Philadelphia. The song won Bruce an Academy Award. The gala play marked just the second time the legendary singer-songwriter has performed the rarity since 2016.

The latest Bruce movie news is the film Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere, which stars Jeremy Allen White, hitting theaters on Friday (October 24). The film traces the making of the 1982 album, Nebraska. Ahead of his solo acoustic performance of the record’s “Atlantic City,” Bruce joked: “This is from Nebraska. Jeremy Allen White, I’m gonna do this one for you because he struggles so hard to play and sing.”

Bruce also performed his 1999 song, “Land Of Hope And Dreams,” ahead of which he referenced the “No Kings” protests that were happening that day.
