Bruce Springsteen Covers Lorde’s Royals In New Zealand

Rocker Bruce Springsteen has been letting it all hang out on his current world tour by debuting covers penned by musicians native to the countries he’s been visiting. That trend continued earlier today at Mount Smart Stadium in Auckland, New Zealand; where he kicked off the show with a solo rendition of Lorde’s 2013 smash “Royals.”
Rolling Stone notes that Springsteen changed the song’s lyrics from “queen bee” to “king bee” during his second-ever live appearance in New Zealand. The show progressed with an impressive 30-song setlist that included the tour debut of “Loose Ends” and a complete performance of The Boss’s 1984 album Born In The U.S.A..
