Bruce Springsteen Announces Companion Album For Autobiography

On September 27 Bruce Springsteen will release Born To Run, a 500-page memoir. A few days earlier, on September 23, The Boss will unveil a soundtrack of sorts for the book entitled Chapter & Verse featuring music from throughout Springsteen’s career including five previously unreleased tracks.

The songs on the 18-track effort were selected by Bruce “to reflect the themes and sections of Born To Run.” Up first on the LP are a pair of tracks from one of Springsteen’s first bands, The Castiles, and the album wraps up with the title track from 2012’s Wrecking Ball. There’s also tracks from other early Springsteen bands Steel Mill and The Bruce Springsteen Band. Some of the musicians in those groups went on to join The E Street Band.

Chapter and Verse will be issued as a single CD and double LP, as well as via digital download and streaming formats. Included with the LP will be lyrics and rare photos. Pre-orders will begin on Friday, July 29.
