Bruce Hornsby headlined and curated the second annual Funhouse Fest in Williamsburg, Virginia over the weekend. Hornsby was featured in three programs as Friday night’s action included “Top 90 Time: The Hits & Near-Hits,” Saturday saw him team with guests for “Bruce Sings Jerry” and a special Bruce Hornsby & Sonny Emory duo performance capped things off on Sunday. Both Friday and Saturday sets included The Noisemakers.

The famed performer also sat-in with Sheryl Crow on “Midnight Rider.” Crow, Lake Street Dive, Rhiannon Giddens, The Staves, Kenny Garrett, yMusic, Hiss Golden Messenger and the Virginia Symphony String Quartet were the other acts handpicked by Bruce for this year’s event.

Hornsby kicked off Saturday’s “Bruce Sings Jerry” set with help from The Staves on “Mississippi Half-Step Uptown Toodeloo” and “Cumberland Blues.” Bruce then led his band through “Black Muddy River” ahead of yMusic adding to “Loser.” Up next was “Brown-Eyed Women” with special guests Josh Kaufman, Bobby Hornsby and Brad Cook of His Golden Messenger. The set rolled on with “Scarlet Begonias,” “Wharf Rat,” “Standing On The Moon” and “Lady With A Fan.”

Bruce then welcomed Rachael Price of Lake Street Dive for “Morning Dew” and ended the main set with “U.S. Blues.” For the encore, Hornsby & Co. were aided by The Staves and M.C. Taylor of Hiss Golden Messenger on “Ripple.”
