The Brothers Comatose shared a video for their cover of The Kinks’ “Strangers.” The Bay Area-based band reached out to fans to help them create the video for the Kinks classic.

“Strangers” originally appears on the 1970 album Lola Versus Powerman and the Moneygoround, Part One. The Brothers Comatose — led by Ben Morrison and Alex Morrison — celebrate the song’s 50th anniversary as well as the tune’s lyric, “We are not two/We are one.” With the song’s message of solidarity, The Brothers Comatose set out to make the video with help from their fans.

“As soon as people started sending in their videos, I got emotional watching them so I stopped and waited to see the final video,” Ben Morrison said in a statement. “I started getting all teary-eyed when I watched the finished video. I’m not a super emotional guy but seeing all these people send in their favorite quarantine activities gave me hope for the first time in a long time. It worked well with the message of the song.”
