Bay Area string band The Brothers Comatose were waiting to put out their cover of Bill Withers’ “Ain’t No Sunshine” but decided to release it immediately upon hearing the news of Withers' death. “Ain’t No Sunshine” will appear on Covers From Left Field, an EP due out in May.

“Bill Withers was big in our house when we were growing up. Our parents would throw music parties at our house with their musician friends and someone would play ‘Ain’t No Sunshine’ every time,” the band’s Ben Morrison explained. “[Fellow Brothers Comatose member] Alex [Morrison] and I grew up on his tunes. I was incredibly sad to hear of Bill’s passing, so we figured it was the right time to put out our tribute to him.”
