Tedeschi Trucks Band performed for a second straight day Sunday at the Lockn’ music festival in Arrington, Virginia. The group was joined by a pair of special guests as saxophonist Branford Marsalis and guitarist Eric Krasno sat-in during yesterday’s set.
Guitarists and co-leaders Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks got to work with a cover of “Statesboro Blues” and then led their bad through favorites “Anyhow,” “Part of Me,” “Darling Be Home Soon” and “Let Me Get By.” Vocalist Mike Mattison, who was absent on Saturday, was back with his mates and led a strong cover of Bob Dylan’s “Down In The Flood.”
Marsalis, who was slated to perform with Dead & Company following TTB’s performance, emerged to join a rendition of The Derek Trucks Band’s “Mahjoun,” which featured the guest engaging with Kofi Burbridge on flute. Marsalis remained in the horn section for the subsequent “I Want More,” going sax-to-sax with Kebbi Williams at the conclusion of his guest spot.
