Brandi Carlile Welcomes Emmylou Harris At The Gorge

By Andy Kahn Jun 3, 2019 12:03 pm PDT

Brandi Carlile brought out Emmylou Harris yesterday during Carlile’s birthday celebration concert. The collaboration took place in Carlile’s home stage of Washington at the majestic Gorge Amphitheatre.

Carlile and Harris joined forces on a cover of Sarah McLachlan’s “Angel.” The duet came at the end of Carlile’s main set, which was primarily made up of selections from her 2018 album By The Way, I Forgive You. The encore at The Gorge featured covers of Queen’s “We Will Rock You,” John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads” and the show-closing rendition of Jane Sidberry’s “Calling All Angels” with Carlile’s sister (and band mate Phil Hanseroth’s wife) Tiffany Hanseroth on additional vocals.

Watch audience-shot video footage of Emmylou Harris and Brandi Carlile’s performance of “Angel” as well as footage from soundcheck posted by Haley Lehner below:
