Brad Paisley Sits-In With Rolling Stones In Nashville

The Rolling Stones brought their Zip Code North American Tour to Nashville’s LP Arena on Wednesday night. The band continued a trend of the tour by having opener Brad Paisley sit in for the evening’s fan selected song.

Country star and skilled guitarist, Paisley opened the evening with a set that included sit-ins from country pop singer Carrie Underwood on the single she recorded with him, “Remind Me” and Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh on “Life’s Been Good” and “Alcohol.” The opening set also included Paisley’s guitar tech -who worked for The Stones for 20 years -coming on stage to propose to his girlfriend, who said “yes.”

Sticking to the familiar setlist structure of the Zip Code Tour so far, The Stones ripped through classics like “Jumpin’ Jack Flash,” “It’s Only Rock ‘n’ Roll (But I Like It)” and “Tumbling Dice” as well as Sticky Fingers cuts “Bitch,” “Wild Horses” and “Dead Flowers” the last of which was the fan vote of the night and saw Paisley return to add guitar and vocals as he has with the band in the past.

Mick Jagger reportedly joked during the show, “We’ve got so many country artists here tonight… When I went to the VIP room back stage, wow, I’ve never seen so much heartbreak!”  The night ended in typical fashion with local choir Belmont University Chorale joining the first song of the encore “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” which gave way to “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” to close the show.
