boygenius took the stage last night in New York City for just their second public performance since ending a 2018 tour in support of their eponymous debut EP. The supergroup featuring Phoebe Bridgers, Julien Baker and Lucy Dacus offered the live premieres of two songs from their forthcoming debut full-length album The Record as part of the 36th Annual Tibet House US Benefit Concert at Carnegie Hall.

Artistic director Philip Glass, New Order, Allison Russell, Laurie Anderson, Arooj Aftab, Patti Smith Band (Lenny Kaye, Tony Shanahan, Jay Dee Daughtry and Glen Burtnik), Marc Anthony Thompson and Tenzin Choegyal were among others who performed at the yearly fundraiser. Gogol Bordello closed out the concert with a set that concluded in traditional Tibet House benefit fashion with the evening’s performers contributing to “People Have The Power.”
