The 75th birthday of Grateful Dead frontman Jerry Garcia will be honored with a special concert at Red Rocks in Morrison, Colorado on August 4. Bob Weir & The Campfire Band will headline a lineup that also includes an all-star band put together in tribute of Garcia, who was born on August 1, 1942 and died on August 9, 1995.
The concert will feature performances from Bob Weir & The Campfire Band and a group dubbed “The Jerry Garcia 75th Birthday Band.” Keyboardist Melvin Seals and vocalists Jackie LaBranch and Gloria Jones of the Jerry Garcia Band will be part of The Jerry Garcia 75th Birthday Band along with bassist Oteil Burbridge, saxophonist Kamasi Washington, guitarist Tom Hamilton and drummer Duane Trucks. More lineup announcements are expected in the days and weeks to come.
