Bob Dylan Debuts The Band Collaboration ‘Baby, Won’t You Be My Baby’ At Tour Opener

Bob Dylan initiated his 2026 Summer Tour at McMenamins Edgefield in Troutdale, Oregon on Thursday. The storied singer-songwriter offered the live debut of “Baby, Won’t You Be My Baby” during the Portland-area concert.

Following sets from The John Doe Folk Trio and Lucinda Williams, Dylan began his set with “To Be Alone With You,” a song off his 1969 album Nashville Skyline. Bob, who recently clocked his 85th birthday, also delivered older favorites such as “All Along The Watchtower,” “When I Paint My Masterpiece” and the Blonde On Blonde classic “Rainy Day Women #12 & 35.”

Additionally, Dylan included songs from his 2020 studio album Rough and Rowdy Ways “I Contain Multitudes” and “Crossing The Rubicon” alongside covers of Bo Diddley (“I Can Tell”) George Butler (“Axe and the Wind”) and Bobby Bland’s “Share Your Love With Me.”

Following the latter, Bob Dylan delivered the live debut of “Baby, Won’t You Be My Baby.” The song was released as part of The Bootleg Series, Vol. 11: The Basement Tapes RAW in 2014. The collection offered further glimpses into Dylan’s 1967 sessions with The Band, making the performance last night a nearly 60-year span between recording and live debut.
