Blackberry Smoke Shares Marshall Tucker Band Cover

Blackberry Smoke released a cover of Marshall Tucker Band’s “Take The Highway.” The Athens, Georgia-based band welcomed current MTB member Marcus Henderson for the cover.

Blackberry Smoke’s take on “Take The Highway” will appear on their upcoming EP Live From Capricorn Sound Studios with a portion of the proceeds heading to MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund. The tune originally appears on Marshall Tucker Band’s 1973 self-titled debut, which was recorded at the aforementioned Capricon Studios in Macon, Georgia. MTB multi-instrumentalist Marcus Henderson added the song’s signature flute to Blackberry Smoke’s rendition.
