Atlanta-birthed rock band Blackberry Smoke will issue The Southern Ground Sessions EP on October 26. The quintet recorded the six-track effort with guests Amanda Shires and Oliver Wood live at Southern Ground studio in Nashville. BBS shared the EP’s lead single “Run Away From It All.”

Guitarist Charlie Starr, bassist Richard Turner, drummer Brit Turner, guitarist Paul Jackson and keyboardist Brandon Still are releasing the collection as a companion to their recently issued studio album Find A Light. Blackberry Smoke’s The Southern Ground Sessions features more bare bones renditions of five tracks from the LP as well as a cover of “You Got Lucky” by Tom Petty. Shires contributes to both “You Got Lucky” and “Let Me Down Easy,” while Oliver Wood appears on “Mother Mountain.”
