Billy Joel rang in the New Year with a hometown December 31 concert at UBS Arena at Belmont Park on Long Island, New York. During Joel’s headlining set, drummer Jason Bonham sat in on a cover of Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love.”
Bonham, who is the son of late Led Zeppelin co-founding drummer John Bonham, was at UBS Arena to perform an opening set with his group Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Evening.

“We’re going to bring a guest on stage to do this next song,” Joel told the audience. “We have fun playing this, especially with this guy. Please welcome Jason Bonham.”
Joel then cautioned that it “was not a piano song” as Bonham emerged to play drums. Guitarist Mike DelGuidice did his best to channel Robert Plant while handling lead vocals on “Whole Lotta Love” alongside Bonham and Joel.
