Hosted by The Infamous Stringdusters banjoist Chris Pandolfi, the installment starts with a discussion of the ‘Dusters’ songwriting process.
Chris Pandolfi begins the episode by diving into the show’s social media mailbox to discuss his band’s songcraft. He gives the example of “Planets,” a song found on The Infamous Stringdusters’ 2019 album, Rise Sun. Nershi speaks of his influences, SCI’s early days and some of the huge decisions that helped the band navigate the music industry. Billy and Panda discuss how Cheese approaches songwriting and the importance of not saying no to suggestions from other members of the group. Additional topics include the founding of The String Cheese Incident’s SCI Fidelity label, how the song “Bollymunster” came together and the genesis of SCI’s Sound Lab facility.
