Currently in the midst of short three-show tour of the Northeast, Tedeschi Trucks Band performed the middle show of the run last night in New Haven, Connecticut at the College Street Music Hall. Legendary vocalist Betty Harris joined the group on stage for a cover of an Allen Toussaint-penned classic.

After opening with “Made Up Mind” and working through covers of “The Letter,” “Something,” “Don’t Miss Me” and “Keep on Growing,” Harris — known for her 1963 hit “Cry To Me” — emerged in middle of the set to add her signature vocals. A staple of TTD setlists this year, Harris joined the band on “Break In The Road” which the late Toussaint wrote and she originally recorded and released in 1969. The rest of the set mixed in more covers including their work up of John Prine’s “Angel From Montgomery” with Grateful Dead’s “Sugaree.” A “Let’s Go Get Stoned” encore capped off the night.

Fan-shot footage of Betty Harris performing with Tedeschi Trucks Band was captured by Sean Roche, watch:

TTB perform again tonight, Saturday, December 5 at Providence Performing Arts Center in Providence, Rhode Island.
