Bernie Worrell To Guest With Meters Experience At Sweetwater Music Hall

This Friday The Meters’ Experience feat. Leo Nocentelli of the Meters featuring Meters guitarist Leo Nocentelli will perform at Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley, California. The band will be joined by special guest Bernie Worrell. It was recently revealed that Worrell, the legendary keyboardist of Parliament-Funkadelic/Talking Heads fame, is battling stage four lung cancer.

A number of musicians who Bernie has collaborated with over the years currently call the Bay Area home, so don’t be surprised to see other special guests share the stage on Friday night. Worrell toured with Steve Kimock for a few years and the guitarist commented on the event’s Facebook page “look forward to seeing you Bernie!” As of now, Bernie doesn’t have any confirmed performances outside of Friday at Sweetwater. Nocentelli is coming off a stint as a special guest on Jam Cruise 14 and will reunite with the other original Meters on April 22 in New Orleans.
