Benmont Tench Enlists Allstars For Debut Solo Album

                                        On February 18 Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers keyboardist Benmont  Tench will release his debut solo album, You Should Be So Lucky, on Blue Note Records. Tench has  enlisted the help of many musical friends for his Glyn Johns-produced turn in the spotlight after  five decades in the industry including a core band of Don Was, Ethan Johns, Blake Mills  and Jeremy Stacey and contributions by Ryan Adams, Gillian Welch & David Rawlings,  Joel Jerome, Tom Petty and Ringo Starr.

This morning Rolling Stone has premiered audio of the first single off Benmont’s album -“Blonde Girl, Blue Dress.” The song features Tom Petty on bass, Ringo Starr on tambourine and David Rawlings & Gillian Welch providing backing vocals. Take a listen:
Tench will celebrate the release of the album with a pair of shows at Largo in Los Angeles on February 20 and 21.
