The Avett Brothers held another home state New Year’s Eve concert at ExploreAsheville.com Arena in Asheville, North Carolina. The sibling-led band’s December 31 performance included post-countdown covers of John Fogerty and Black Sabbath songs, with Valient Himself of the band Valient Thorr once again appearing as Father Time.

With the stage still dark at the onset of the show, brothers Scott-Avett and Seth-Avett sang The Zombies’ “This Will Be Our Year,” marking its first setlist appearance since New Year’s Eve 2009. The full band lit up as they burst into “Colorshow.” Later in the set, “The New Love Song” was played for the first time since 2018.

Father Time emerged to lead the countdown to midnight and the customary “Auld Lang Syne” that followed, with balloons covering the audience and stage. The Avetts then covered John Fogerty’s baseball-themed “Centerfield” for the first song of 2026. The festivities continued with Black Sabbath’s “Paranoid” closing out the main set.

“Laundry Room” and “Ain’t No Man” made up the NYE show encore. Tap below to watch the countdown to midnight and post-balloon drop cover debuts.
