The Avett Brothers Honor The Cranberries’ Dolores O’Riordan Again With Debut In Louisville

The Avett Brothers concluded a three-night stand on Saturday night at the Louisville Palace Theatre in Louisville, Kentucky. For the closing night of the run, the North Carolina-based band once mined their catalog offering up selections from nine of the studio albums, while also honoring The Cranberries’ Dolores O’Riordan for the second time in three nights with a debut cover.

After opening the night with “Head Full of Doubt/Road Full of Promise,” The Avetts performed a cover of “Linger” from the Irish band’s 1993 breakthrough release Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can’t We?. The track, which peaked at number eight on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, got a huge response from the audience who turned it into a giant sing-a-long.

Watch fan-shot video of The Avett Brothers version of “Linger,” as well as their second ever take on Tommy James & the Shondells’ “I Think We’re Alone Now,” which they recently debuted on New Year’s Eve, along with the full setlist below:
