The Trey Anastasio Band Fall Tour 2014 is well underway after Friday’s opener in Chicago, a Saturday night show in Pittsburgh and last night’s visit to Richmond, Virginia. So far, TAB has debuted one new song and that came on Saturday when they premiered “Speak To Me.”

Very thankful to finish this long weekend with @treyanastasio and his band! #Pittsburgh #TAB

Not to be confused with the Pink Floyd song of the same name, Anastasio’s “Speak To Me” is a funky, horn-driven rocker that even features some scat singing. Trey has added a clap pedal to his rig that adds the effect of hands clapping, which he used in “Speak To Me.” Saturday’s show was also notable for the return of “Come As Melody,” a song that was a setlist staple in 2005 and 2006, but had disappeared ever since. In fact, Saturday was the first time TAB drummer and bassist Russ Lawton and Tony Markellis had ever performed the song in public. You’ll also notice in the photo above, the Phish front man has dusted off an older Languedoc guitar for the TAB tour. This axe was Anastasio’s backup guitar for the early and mid ’90s before it was refinished in tobacco burst a few years back.
