Audio | Trey Anastasio Band Debut & Bust Out In Portland

Seven songs into the first set, Anastasio and his band dusted off the Phish obscurity “Never,” which was last performed by Trey twice in 2005 during the 70 Volt Parade days. Phish debuted “Never” as part of the band’s lone appearance at Neil & Pegi Young’s Bridge School Benefit Concerts in 1998 and then never played the song again. All told, the guitarist has performed “Never” publicly a total of four times.
Later in the first set TAB debuted a song thought to be an original dubbed “Invisible Knife.” The tune starts on the slow side, before Anastasio lights into a euphoric, shred-heavy solo.
