Audio | Lotus Unveils First Track From Hip-Hop Themed Album

Next month jamtronica act Lotus will put out an album that marks a big change for the band’s sound. When we talked to Lotus’s Luke Miller, he described Monks, due September 10, as a hip-hop album. MCs such as Doodlebug, Lyrics Born, Mr. Lif and Gift Of Gab all appear on Monks. “Using the band’s own studio work as a sample source, the music will have a familiar feel to Lotus fans but re-contextualized as classic hip-hop,” a statement from the Lotus Org reads.
