Grateful Dead tribute act Joe Russo’s Almost Dead returned to Concord Music Hall in Chicago on Saturday night for their second of two performances at the venue. JRAD features Russo on drums, guitarists Scott Metzger and Tom Hamilton, keyboardist Marco Benevento and bassist Dave Dreiwitz.

Not only were this weekend’s shows the band’s first outside of the Northeast, it was also JRAD’s first two-night stand. As such, the quintet treated fans to completely different setlists each night. Saturday’s performance featured a six-song, well-jammed first set as well as a second set that contained full performances of the “Weather Report Suite” and the famed “Help On The Way” > “Slipknot!” > “Franklin’s Tower” sequence. JRAD even ended the second set with the reprise of “Playing In The Band” after performing the song in the first set.
