Auction | Friends Come To Aid Of Drummer Eric Bolivar

By Scott Bernstein Feb 9, 2015 11:00 am PST

Last month drummer Eric Bolivar revealed he’s been diagnosed with Polycystic Kidney Disease. Bolivar is on the donor list for a new kidney and is currently maintaining daily dialysis while still working as a full-time musician. In order to help support Eric and his family while they get adjusted through these hard times, friends of the music and art community have come together to offer fans a slew of incredible items through a Facebook auction.

Offerings include packages contributed by Widespread Panic, Kung Fu, Eric Kalb, Soulive, Cage The Elephant, 9:30 Club, Cris Jacobs, the Disco Biscuits, Dr. Dog, Umphrey’s McGee and many others. We highly recommend visiting the page and taking your pick from the dozens of amazing packages that are up for auction.

The auction works similar to an old-school silent auction at a benefit. All of the items are listed as individual posts on the auction’s Facebook page. When you see an item you like, leave your bid as a comment. Bids that are not an increase of the previous bid will be deleted. Each individual item will be auctioned live for ten days. At 8 p.m. on the 10th day, the highest bidder will be announced and contacted through the page and directed to pay using PayPal.

Auction organizers advise that more selections may be added over time, so please revisit the page often. We also want to give a shout out to Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, who helped collect funds for Bolivar at their recent Brooklyn Bowl gigs with all donations matched by the venue’s co-owner, Peter Shapiro.
