After six years and many changes to their sound, Baltimore’s Animal Collective will finally issue a new live album. Live At 9:30, the group’s first live LP since 2009’s Animal Crack Box, comes out on Friday.
Live At 9:30 features tracks recorded at Washington, D.C.’s 9:30 Club on June 12, 2013. The album is available for pre-order as a digital download as well as on vinyl. The 3-LP collection is a limited, one-time pressing of 2,000 hand-numbered box sets. Animal Crack Box was recorded between 2000 and 2003, so Live At 9:30 gives fans their first official taste of the band’s live offerings in over a decade.
