Animal Collective Announce New Album & Share Single

On February 19 Animal Collective will release their 10th studio album, Painting With, via Domino. Avey Tare, Panda Bear and Geologist have unveiled the LP’s initial single – “FloriDada.”

Painting With will be available with three different covers – one featuring Avey Tare, another with an image of Panda Bear and a third with an image of Geologist. Those who pre-order the album now will receive an instant download of “FloriDada.” A limited deluxe LP of Painting With includes an exclusive 7” featuring two non-album tracks, zoetropic 12” turntable slipmat and download card, with one of the three cover variations designed by Brian DeGraw.

“FloriDada” picks up where the band left off on 2012’s Centipede Hz with less reverb. “Everything seems drenched in reverb these days, and is so distant,” Avey Tare told Rolling Stone. “In a way, it was a reaction to that.” Listen to “FloriDada” which features a blast of “Wipeout”:

Animal Collective recorded the LP at EastWest Studios in Los Angeles and it features cameos from John Cale and Colin Stetson.
