Multi-instrumentalist Andrew Bird has confirmed a run of orchestral dates in four U.S. cities this fall. Bird also announced co-headlining performances with Punch Brothers and a pair of events in which he’ll play songs from the Blue Heart score.

Blue Heart is a film produced by Patagonia documenting “the battle for the largest undammed river in Europe (Albania’s Vjosa), the effort to save the endangered Balkan lynx in Macedonia, and the women of Kruščica, Bosnia and Herzegovina who are spearheading a months-long, 24/7 protest to protect their community’s only source of fresh water.” Andrew Bird scored the film and will perform select songs from the score at Brooklyn Bowl in New York City on May 7 and at Thalia Hall in Chicago on May 9.

In August, Bird has a series of three co-headlining dates set with Punch Brothers. The two acts begin the brief run at KettleHouse Amphitheater in Bonner, Montana on August 17. Next up is a visit to Portland, Oregon’s Oregon Zoo Amphitheater on August 18 and a stop at Woodland Park Zoo Amphitheater in Seattle on August 19.

The orchestral run will start with Bird performing alongside the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra at Indianapolis’s Hilbert Circle Theatre on September 26. Andrew then pairs with the Kansas City Symphony in Kansas City on September 29 and the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles on October 11. Bird will make his Kennedy Center debut alongside the National Symphony Orchestra in Washington, D.C. on October 26 and 27. Gabriel Kahane who orchestrated some of Bird’s songs for the concerts, will perform with Andrew at the Kennedy Center.
