Anders Osborne Tackles ‘Friend Of The Devil’

When we launched the Songs Of Their Own video series to honor 50 years of the Grateful Dead, the first clip we shared featured Anders Osborne & Luther Dickinson teaming up on “Black Muddy River.” Anders does such a great job with Dead songs both in electric and acoustic formats and the guitarist showed off another of the Garcia/Hunter tunes in an unplugged setting on Saturday night, when he covered “Friend Of The Devil” with help of an enthusiastic crowd.

Osborne played a pair of acoustic shows at SPACE in Evanston, Illinois on Friday and Saturday nights. On Saturday, he hit the “Friend Of The Devil” cover within his set to the delight of the audience. Anders shared vocals with the crowd on the jubilant Dead cover as we see in fan-shot video of “Friend Of The Devil.”
