Terrapin Crossroads in San Rafael, California hosted a benefit for the Unbroken Chain Foundation last night featuring a set from Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh and the latest installment of the Terrapin Allstars. Phil was joined on Thursday by guitarists Anders Osborne and Scott Law, keyboardist Jason Crosby and drummers Ezra Lipp and Cochrane McMillan.
While the ensemble’s lone set featured a number of Grateful Dead classics such as “Sugaree,” “Brown Eyed Women” and “Eyes Of The World,” the group also worked through an assortment of classic rock covers including Van Morrison’s “And It Stoned Me,” Neil Young’s “Rockin’ In The Free World” and “Midnight Rambler” by The Rolling Stones. Additionally, Phil Lesh & The Terrapin Allstars presented versions of Anders Osborne originals “Wind” and “Burning On The Inside.” The latter served as the evening’s encore.
