Allman Brothers And Grateful Dead Extended Family Members Form Live Dead & Brothers

New project Live Dead & Brothers featuring actual and legacy members from the extended Grateful Dead and The Allman Brothers Band families will hit the road this spring for their inaugural tour. The all-star ensemble will perform GD and ABB music from the 1969 – 1973 era over the course of the excursion.

Live Dead & Brothers — pianist Tom Constanten (Grateful Dead), bassist Berry Duane Oakley (Allman Betts Band), guitarists Les Dudek (Allman Brothers Band) and Mark Karan (RatDog), keyboardist Scott Guberman (Phil Lesh & Friends) and drummer Pete Lavezzoli (Oteil Burbridge & Friends) — “invites fans, both old and new, to come together and relive the vibrant, transformative spirit of the 60s and 70s,” as per an announcement heralding the band’s formation. “Whether you’re a lifelong devotee of the Grateful Dead and Allman Brothers or discovering their magic for the first time, this is a live music experience that transcends generations.”

The tour begins in Florida with stops in St. Petersburg on April 5, Fort Lauderdale on April 6 and Orlando on April 7. Live Dead & Brothers finish the Southeast portion of the trek in Atlanta on April 12 and Asheville on April 14.

The talented sextet moves on the Midwest and Northeast next for shows in Cincinnati on April 18, Buffalo on April 19, Northfield (Ohio) on April 20, Warrendale (Pennsylvania) on April 22, Syracuse on April 24, Ardmore (Pennsylvania) on April 25, York (Pennsylvania) on April 26, Washington D.C. on April 27 and New York City on April 28. Live Dead & Brothers also confirmed May concerts in the Illinois cities of St. Charles and Des Plaines.
