Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame guitarist Eric Clapton began a run of September shows in celebration of his 50-year career with two concerts at Madison Square Garden in New York City this past Thursday and Friday nights. Clapton ran through the same 16 songs at each show backed by a talented band of drummer Steve Gadd, keyboardists Chris Stainton and Walt Richmond, bassist Nathan East and vocalists Sharlotte Gibson and Sharon White. The Brit mixed blues standards with the most beloved songs from his many projects. Fellow guitar greats Jimmie Vaughan and Gary Clark Jr. opened and joined Slowhand for the “Before You Accuse Me” finale.
