M.I.A.: Graphic “Born Free” Video

The video for the first single from M.I.A.‘s forthcoming new album was released today. Warning: It is violent and intense. Really. Don’t watch this with kids around or your boss looking over your shoulder. Really. Video contains graphic violence, nudity and profanity. It was directed by Romain-Gavras, who has worked with Justice, The Last Shadow Puppets and Simian Mobile Disco. The track itself is a jittery bit of agit-prop electro-punk that further fuels the idea that M.I.A. has picked up the gauntlet thrown down by The Clash many moons ago.
