Warren Haynes Forms Ashes & Dust Band

On October 13 Warren Haynes will play the famed Ryman Auditorium in Nashville in support of his recently released Ashes & Dust LP. While Haynes has detailed a number of dates in support of the album featuring Railroad Earth as his backing band, a group Warren has dubbed “The Ashes & Dust Band” will perform with him at The Ryman.

Warren Haynes Ashes & Dust Band features Jeff Sipe of the Aquarium Rescue Unit on drums as well as Americana trio ChessBoxer. The Nashville-based ChessBoxer includes Matt Menefee on banjo, Ross Holmes on violin and Royal Masat on upright bass.

While we had a feeling Warren didn’t put together the band for one show, our suspicions were just confirmed by the announcement of another gig featuring the group – September 26 at Chicago’s Riviera Theatre. Tickets for the Nashville show go on sale tomorrow (July 10) at 10 a.m. CT, while tickets for the Chicago show go on sale July 17 at 10 a.m. CT. ChessBoxer’s Twitter advises more news is coming:
