Nearly 22 years after Warren Haynes first sat-in with the Dave Matthews Band at Wetlands in NYC, the guitarist and his old friends joined forces once again last night at PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, New Jersey. The former Allman Brothers and current Gov’t Mule axeman contributed to a pair of songs in DMB’s electric second set. It was also revealed Warren will guest with the band again later this month.

The Dave Matthews Band stuck to setlist staples for the acoustic first set with the exception of “One Sweet World,” which hadn’t been performed since early in the tour. Early in the electric second set, DMB offered the tour debut of “Why I Am.” Haynes emerged towards the end of the set for the tour debut of “Can’t Stop” and a cover of Neil Young” “Cortez The Killer.” Last night marked Haynes’ 50th appearance with DMB or other Dave projects. It was also the tenth time he sat-in with the group on “Cortez The Killer,” which DMB last performed on September 17, 2011 with Warren on Randall’s Island in NYC.

Warren Haynes is also expected to sit-in with the Dave Matthews Band on June 26 at Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden, New Jersey. Next up for DMB is a performance at Xfinity Theatre in Hartford on Friday night.
