Philadelphia’s own Hall & Oates have been tapped to open the city’s newest venue, The Fillmore Philadelphia, on October 1. The Live Nation-managed venue has announced a handful of shows in addition to Hall & Oates including Joe Russo’s Almost Dead on New Year’s Eve.

Frank Turner, Flux Pavilion, Brandi Carlile, AER, Misterwives, Eli Young Band and Papadosio will also perform at The Fillmore Philadelphia this fall. “We’re excited and feel fortunate to kick things off with two of the all-time great musical artists,” said Ben Weeden, chief operating officer of Live Nation’s theater & clubs division. “Philadelphia is a city with a proud musical heritage and this is the perfect way to get started.”

The Fillmore Philadelphia will be located at 1000 Frankford Avenue in the City of Brotherly Love at the site of a defunct, 100-year-old factory. Live Nation’s House of Blues Entertainment (HoBE) division will run the new venues. HoBE has utilized the familiar “The Fillmore” label for the new venue which builds upon the legacy established by impresario Bill Graham in the ’60s. Philadelphia’s Theater of Living Arts briefly had Fillmore as part of its name between 2007 and 2008.

Tickets for the first batch of shows go on sale June 4 at 10 a.m. ET.
