John McLaughlin To Guest With Aquarium Rescue Unit

As we previously reported, the debut of the reunited Col. Bruce Hampton & The Aquarium Rescue Unit will take place at the PRS Guitars 30th Anniversary Concert & Celebration. The concert event takes place June 5 in Baltimore at Ram’s Head Live. Jambands.com points out the exciting news legendary jazz guitarist John McLaughlin will be ARU’s special guest at the Baltimore concert.


The PRS Guitars 30th Anniversary Concert & Celebration will mark the first time frontman/mastermind Col. Bruce Hampton and guitarist Jimmy Herring, drummer Jeff Sipe, bassist Oteil Burbridge and keyboardist Matt Slocum will appear on stage together since a previous regrouping. The show will serve as a premiere prior to an extensive tour in July and August. Those shows will see the band perform old and new material recorded for a live album planned for release later this year.
