Jason Isbell & Amanda Shires Sit-In With Ryan Adams At Ryman

On the same day Jason Isbell officially sold out all four nights of his upcoming run at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville this coming October 23 -26, the singer-songwriter and his talented wife Amanda Shires joined their friend Ryan Adams during the second of two sold-out shows at the famed Nashville venue. The night of collaborations also saw opening act Natalie Prass appear to augment Adams and his band.

A little over halfway through his set, Adams brought out Prass to add vocals to Patrick Swayze’s Dirty Dancing track, “She’s Like The Wind” which they debuted together last month in Ireland. A few songs later Prass reemerged with an electric guitar strapped Isbell for takes on Adams’ “Oh My Sweet Carolina” and “Peaceful Valley.” Next the trio of Isbell and Adams on acoustic guitars and Shires on fiddle shared a lone microphone at the center of the storied stage for a rendition of Whiskeytown’s “Jacksonville Skyline” with Isbell singing the song’s second verse. Adams and his band then closed out the set with “When The Stars Go Blue” and “I See Monsters” prior to a “Come Pick Me Up” encore.
