Yesterday marked the first day of the inaugural Lockn’ Festival in Arrington, VA. Lockn’ got off to a rough start when a slew of volunteers walked off the job leading to hours-long traffic tie ups. We should have a report from our correspondents at the event soon, but we wanted to share audio which taper Z-Man has graciously already uploaded of both the Warren Haynes Band and Gov’t Mule sets.

The first Warren Haynes Band set of the year saw Haynes and Co. mix songs from 2011’s Man In Motion LP with choice covers like Steely Dan’s “Pretzel Logic” and “All Along The Watchtower” by Bob Dylan. You can stream Z-Man’s recording here or download it here.

Gov’t Mule’s Lockn’ performance saw a mini-set of songs featuring Grace Potter that included covers of The Beatles’ “Dear Prudence,” Fleetwood Mac’s “Gold Dust Woman,” Shout! track “Whisper In Your Soul,” CSNY’s “Find The Cost Of Freedom” and Neil Young’s “Southern Man.” The Mule set ended with a performance of Haynes’ trademark “Soulshine” along with members of the Warren Haynes Band. You can download Z-Man’s recording here.
