Nasty Nate

Sizzla Kolongi is by far the best reggae live act. If you get a chance to go see this guy, Do it!

I think this lineup looks extremely weak, especially considering that this took over Reggae on the River. Where are the good roots acts? No Midnite, Steel Pulse, Israel Vibration, Clinton Fearon, Groundation, Alpha Blondy, Burning Spear, etc....... UB40 is a shitty headliner. They are the epitomy of a bunch of white guys ripping off other reggae artists. Just to damn cheesey.

Sorry to say it, but dancehall reggae kinda sucks. Roots reggae is where it's at for me.

'Nuff said!

Now if he's not roots enough for you, I don't know what to say.

His appearances in the U.S. are all too rare, and it's a coup for anyone to get Gentleman on the bill for any festival. He's the best act on this bill, by far.

Run, do not walk to the Gentleman performance, you won't be sorry!!!

C'mon, If you don't consider Don Carlos, Junior Reid, or Sly & Robbie doing a Black Uhuru tribute to be roots, you have no idea what you are talking about. Then you have Sizzla, Turbulence, Collie Buddz (with live band this time) Tanya and Gentleman to bring some of the hottest new reggae out there. Someone mentioned wishing Clinton Ferron would be there, well he in on the lineup. As for UB40, yes they are pop, but now with Maxi Priest as the front man, they may be a little more authentic. Maybe some would like to snooze through a Midnight set, but I would take the Reggae Rising lineup over that any day!
