Baton Rouge's Gas Food and Lodging Festival

Coinciding with SXSW, the 2007 Gas Food and Lodging Festival will be held in Baton Rouge, Louisiana from March 12-24. The two-week festival provides traveling bands a means of making a extra cash on the way to SXSW; presumably money to spent on Gas Food and Lodging.

Baton Rouge venues Spanish Moon, Red Star Bar, North Gate Tavern, and Chelsea's welcome a slew of indie bands during the festival, including Deerhunter, Hella, Pelican, Jesse Sykes, Mary Timony, The Black Angels, the Rosebuds, Dirty Projectors, Dirty on Purpose, Georgie James, Bishop Allen, Daughters, Young Widows, Silversun Pickups, Six Parts Seven, Say Hi to Your Mom, and more. They should have a festival that gives traveling FANS gas money. That'd be sweet. Then again, Ozzfest is free this year, from what I hear.

Its pretty funny, most kids in Baton Rouge are freaking out that they have a music festival, the last one got canceled on them. Haha, too bad its pretty pathetic.
