Jay-Z is set to make his return to an American stage this year. The legendary rapper will team up with The Roots to co-headline this year’s Roots Picnic at its new home of Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia.
Hova, who recently began stylizing his name as JAŸ-Z to mark the 30th anniversary of Reasonable Doubt, will perform with The Roots to close out the first day of the event on Saturday, May 30. Roots Picnic concludes on Sunday, May 31. The rest of 2026 lineup will be revealed soon.
Jay-Z hasn’t take the stage since June 2025, when he performed “Crazy In Love” with Beyoncé in Paris. The last festival the rap icon headlined came in 2017, though he made a surprise appearance in 2019 at Pharrell’s Something In The Water festival. The Roots first connected with Jay-Z in 2001, when they backed him for a performance on MTV Unplugged.
Presale tickets are available now. Tickets go on sale to the public tomorrow, March 18 at 10 a.m. ET.
