Widespread Panic are “Goin’ Out West” this summer for their first multi-city tour of the Pacific Coast since 2016. The jam titans confirmed details of a nine-date run spanning July 10 – 25.
After two previously confirmed shows in Montana, the West Coast swing begins in Bend, Oregon with a two-night stand at Hayden Homes Amphitheater July 10 – 11. Widespread Panic then returns to Oakland’s Fox Theater for three nights July 16 – 18. A one-off show at Sacramento’s Channel 24 follows on July 21 before the sextet ends the trek with three nights at The Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles July 23 – 25.
Tickets for all nine shows go on sale to the public on Friday, March 27.
For the past decade, Widespread Panic has focused on multi-night stands in one city rather than tours. The newly announced run marks a huge change to the pattern that developed since 2016.
2016 was also the last time Panic performed in Bend, Oakland and Los Angeles. The band’s only previous concert in Sacramento took place at the Crest Theater on September 26, 1991.
Widespread Panic are currently touring without Jimmy Herring, while the guitarist recovers from treatment for throat cancer. Nick Johnson has been filling in. The band has not announced when Herring will return to the road.
