The history of LSD (Lysergic acid diethylamide), or more commonly, acid, is a long strange one. On this day in 1943 the inventor of the drug, Dr. Albert Hoffman sampled what he’d synthesized for the first time. Known as “Bicycle Day,” here’s a nice recount of this significant moment in self-medication from Wikipedia.
